About South Barwon

The new boundaries of South Barwon have created a suburban seat centred around the established southern suburbs of Geelong and is the growth corridor of the region.

It comprises suburbs like Armstrong Creek, Ceres, Charlemont, Grovedale, Highton, Marshall, Moriac, Mount Duneed, Wandana Heights, Waurn Ponds and part of Belmont.

The name ‘barwon’ comes from the Barwon River, which gets its name from the Wadawurrung word for ‘magpie’ or ‘great wide’.

This is a diverse electorate with many different communities, and I am proud to represent them all.
